Consideration of Darragh Ó Sé's red card in Sunday's Kerry championship match between An Gaeltacht and Austin Stacks will not take place until later in the week.
There had been a rumour reported on Radio Kerry that the county board would meet last night to discuss the situation, which threatens the Kerry captain's participation in the All-Ireland football semi-final against Cork on August 25th.
"There was no meeting scheduled for this evening," said county PRO Willie O'Connor last night. "As of lunchtime today we had not received the referee's report. But there will be a meeting later in the week."
The sending-off of Ó Sé has sparked enormous controversy in the county. Last night a large electronic noticeboard on the way into Tralee blinked into the night the incremental question, 'Will . . . Darragh . . . play?'
Castleisland referee Tom McCarthy's report of the incident that led to Ó Sé's dismissal is anxiously awaited. But the only way in which a disciplinary committee can overturn a red card is by reference to video evidence, none of which seems to exist.
At the end of the match, which was attended by the Taoiseach Bertie Ahern who is holidaying in Kerry, McCarthy had to be escorted from the field by gardai.
