Centre forward Alan O'Shea emerged as Cork IT's hero after a brilliantly-taken opportunist goal in the 43rd minute helped them to a hard-earned two-point win over Waterford IT at Carraigeen yesterday.
Playing with wind in the first half, the Cork side struggled to a 0-4 to 0-2 interval lead against the Waterford side that failed to make the most of some excellent scoring opportunities.
Five minutes after the restart Waterford took the initiative and the lead but they failed to press home their advantage.
