MUNSTER COLLEGES SF A FINAL/St Brendan's 1-12 De La Salle, Macroom 2-8:A DRAMATIC injury-time winning point from sub Bryan O'Shea inspired St Brendan's College, Killarney, to glory in a pulsating Corn Uí Mhuiri final in Knocknagree yesterday.
It was hard luck on Macroom who pillaged a 60th-minute goal to tie the game at 1-11 to 2-8.
But just after Greg Barrett’s late punched goal for the Cork side, St Brendan’s worked the ball to O’Shea for the winning score.
St Brendan’s led 0-6 to 0-4 at half-time, but went behind when Daniel Twomey goalled and Barrett, Cathal Vaughan and Andrew Hegarty helped the Cork side into a 1-8 to 0-10 lead.
Back came St Brendan’s and Jeff O’Donoghue scrambled home a goal and O’Shea scored the first of his two points to put St Brendan’s 1-11 to 1-8 ahead. There was time for Macroom’s goal before O’Shea hit the winner.
