New captains Micheal O'Braonain O Braonain and Angela Smyth arrived in style for the drive-in at Ashbourne last Sunday. The pair flew in by helicopter to get a great day off to a spectacular start. The short trip certainly didn't unsettle them as they both hit solid drives to get the year's golfing underway.

The formal drive-in was followed by a nine hole shotgun-start competition before everyone adjourned to the bar to enjoy food, drink and several fine renditions from the repertoire of Fran Meehan and the rest of the club's musicians.
