Johb McIntyre's year-long reign as Offaly senior hurling manager appears to have ended, following the preliminary report of a special committee set up to formulate recommendations for the appointment of a management team for the coming year. The committee appointed by Offaly County Board chairman Brendan Ward comprises two former selectors, Mick Spain (Drumcullen) and Bro Denis (Birr), as well as Aidan Fogarty (St Rynagh's) and Pat Fleury (Drumcullen), both of whom won All-Ireland medals with Offaly, and Tony Murphy (Seir Kieran).

The chairman and secretary of the county board are also ex officio members of the committee.

The board said yesterday that the committee had recommended the appointment of a new management team. The outgoing management have been informed.
