Australian Geoff Ogilvy had the clubhouse lead at the WGC-CA Championship after firing an impressive seven-under-par first round of 65 in windy conditions today.
With the early groups back in the hut, Ogilvy, the 2006 US Open
winner, had a one-shot lead over American Stewart Clink.
Five players, including world number one Tiger Woods, were on
five-under-par, Woods having completed 15 holes.
Dane Anders Hansen and Australian Adam Scott shot 67 along
with world number two Phil Mickelson.
Spaniard Miguel Angel Jimenez was also five-under but had two
holes remaining to play.
Woods is searching for his 10th win in 11 tournaments
worldwide.
Graeme McDowell made a steady, if unspectacular, start after signing for an opening level par 72.
