The GAA has announced details of a fundraising drive to help the survivors of the Omagh bombing and has asked its 1,800 clubs throughout the country to organise events.

The GAA has already set aside a substantial sum from the proceeds of the All-Ireland hurling semi-final refixture between Offaly and Clare in Thurles. The amount hasn't been confirmed but it is expected to be into six figures.

It was also announced yesterday that the Ireland International Rules team will play the touring Australian team in Healy Park, Omagh, on Saturday, October 3rd as part of the fundraising scheme. There will be a curtain-raiser between the Tyrone minor team and an Ulster selection. Tickets will cost £5.
