If you've spent much of the last six months hanging out in Jupiter you might have missed the endless string of "Lennon for Celtic" stories. We'd long since given up on believing them, largely because they appeared not to be entirely true (as evidenced by Neil Lennon's continuing presence at Leicester). Well, the saga was reborn yesterday in the News of the World who claimed Lennon will join Celtic this week for £6.5 million. Mmm, we'll see.
Republic of Ireland under-21 midfielder Martin Rowlands is another player who's been "on the verge" of moving for as long as we can remember - the latest yarn links him with a £1.5 million transfer to West Brom. There's talk too of Manchester United's 19-year-old defender John O'Shea switching clubs - but only on loan to Belgian side Royal Antwerp.
And what of Stephen Carr? Add Leeds and Liverpool to the ever growing list of clubs reported to be interested in paying the full back a little more than the £4,000-a-week he is currently on at Spurs.
