Last week former Aston Villa midfielder Sasa Curcic, currently unemployed, announced that he "would not sign for another club, not even if I was offered $15 million," but added he might consider an offer that included "15 different women from all around the world". Intriguingly, on Saturday, Dundee's wonderfully named manager Jocky Scott revealed he is hoping to sign the very same Sasa soon. No transfer fee was mentioned, so, what's the story Jocky?

We were puzzled, too, by the news that AC Milan have invited Peterborough's 18-year-old Icelandic midfielder Heigi Danielsson for a trial. Puzzled because Danielsson hasn't made a first team appearance for Peterborough this season. So, are (a) AC Milan not as good as they used to be or (b) are Peterborough a whole lot better than we thought?

And bemused is the only word for our reaction to the story that Manchester United are attempting to persuade Brian Kidd to return to Old Trafford. If he does then we take it he didn't read Alex Ferguson's autobiography.

Finally, Newcastle chairman Freddy Sheppard told Inter Milan to get on their bike last week when he heard they intended taking Kieron Dyer to Italy. "It's flattering to hear that a club like Inter Milan want to sign me but I'm more than happy to stay at Newcastle. I've just bought a house here and the last thing on my mind is leaving," said Dyer, confirming that the deal is on.
