Right, it's British Open time, the second last chance of the Golf Masters' season to earn double the regular prize money

Right, it's British Open time, the second last chance of the Golf Masters' season to earn double the regular prize money. And who have you in your line-up? Scott Hoch? Fred Couples? Steve Jones? John Daly? Brad Faxon? Tom Kite? Bill Glasson? Well, there's always next year.

(If you happen to have at least four of the above players in your team, all of whom have withdrawn from the British Open, we'll send you a polo shirt - get in touch with our helpline and we'll offer you a shoulder to cry on). Bad news too for employers of Retief Goosen, who are hoping to rocket in to the top 10 next week: the South African features in every top 10 line-up, so if he has a particularly successful four days at Carnoustie it won't help you narrow the gap on the leading teams. Tim Herron is the second most popular player with our leading contenders - he features in six of the top 10 line-ups - followed by Hal Sutton, who makes it in to five of our top 10 teams.

Should Colin Montgomerie break his Majors' duck on Sunday afternoon our leader, David Maune, will be one of only two top 10 managers to reap the rewards. Ninth placed Tom Hayes is the other. David has five players in action this week, but if he wants to stretch his lead over Pat Corby he needs Montgomerie, Steve Pate and Des Smyth to do well. Pat's Blackbirds 7 will be relying on Sutton, Padraig Harrington and Carlos Franco to narrow the gap, with Blackbirds 10's hopes resting on Harrington, Sutton and David Howell.

Should Miguel-Angel Jimenez, Tom Lehman or Per-Ulrik Johansson have a British Open to remember, Colomba Gavigan will be back in serious contention for first prize; Kevin Farrell will be hoping for a good showing from Vijay Singh and Mark James, while last year's winner, Paul Sheehan, needs Darren Clarke, Michael Campbell and Patrik Sjoland to produce some spectacular form this week.
