Andy Murray cried tears of joy after Great Britain reached the Davis Cup semi-finals for the first time in 34 years.
Murray came from a set down to beat France’s Gilles Simon and clinch Britain’s overall victory.
The Scot was playing his third match in as many days and fatigue looked to have taken its toll when he trailed Simon by a set and a break, but the Scot dug deep to win 4-6 7-6 6-3 6-0.
His comeback handed Britain an unassailable 3-1 lead in the best-of-five tie at Queen’s Club and sets up a last-four clash with Australia in September.
Murray beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga on Friday before he and his brother Jamie Murray won the doubles on Saturday, and the completion of the triumph meant it was the first time two brothers had won all the points to secure a World Group victory since Zimbabwe’s Byron and Wayne Black achieved the feat in 1998.
