Tony Cozier, widely acknowledged as being the voice of West Indies cricket, has died aged 75. Born in July 1940 in Barbados, Cozier covered almost every cricket series involving the West Indies since 1962.

He had been seriously ill in hospital on the island.

In the 1960s, he was the lone Caribbean voice in the commentary box on tours of Australia, England, India and New Zealand. He was a former senior editor of the Nation newspaper in Barbados and he wrote for The Independent in London.
