Fiona Doyle was the best of the Irish on Day Two of the European Short Course Swimming Championships in Denmark.
Doyle placed 18th overall in the heats of the 200m Breaststroke with a time of 2:26.33, outside the Irish record of 2:24.64 she set last January.
Only the top 10 times progressed to the final.
Doyle will look to her favoured 100m Breaststroke on Saturday.
Bethany Carson had a strong swim in the 100m Individual Medley, with a third place finish in heat one and a personal best of 1:03.37.
Shani Stallard competed in the same event and posted a time of 1:05.07 to finish eighth in Carson’s heat.
Brendan Hyland was eighth in his 400m Individual Medley heat, in a time of 4.25.53; he will swim his main event tomorrow as he competes in the heats of the 200m Butterfly.
