Apart from a couple of stray matches here and there the EY Hockey League will be largely resolved this weekend with Lisnagarvey, Monkstown and Banbridge through to the playoff phase.
The fourth place, which Glenanne currently occupy, is what is open to a few teams.
Clearly results need to fall into place in a certain way but with Glenanne away to Banbridge in Havelock Park, the lower placed clubs on the table will be hoping that the Ulster side could do a job for them.
Pembroke are in Serpentine Avenue with Cork C of I, who are out of the running and the fifth placed side could in all reason expect to nail down a home win in the hope Glenanne fluff their lines up north.
Rovers are also ending their season with a home game against Cookstown, who are second from the bottom of the table.
Rovers will also hope for things to go their way, namely for both Glenanne and Pembroke to drop points and for them to perform at Grange Road.
The weekend also sees eight clubs battle it out to gain a place in next season’s EY Hockey League. Hosted by Monkstown and Lisnagarvey, each two-pitch venue hosts one men’s and one women’s pool of four teams with each team playing Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday.
The top two teams from each men’s and women’s pools at will qualify for the knockout finals which will take place in Three Rock Rovers on April 23rd-24th.
