Ireland will be without several athletes when they host the European Team Championships First League in Santry on Saturday and Sunday, June 22-23rd.
Among those ruled out through injury are Ciarán Ó Lionáird in the 1,500 metres and high jumper Deirdre Ryan – both of whom competed in the London Olympics – along with the likes of Thomas Barr (400m hurdles), although the women's team still boasts the experienced leadership of Derval O'Rourke (100m hurdles) and two-time European cross country champion Fionnuala Britton (5,000m).
