Irish Sport Horses take gold silver and bronze in Belgium

Ger O’Neill produced the only double clear of the competition when landing for KM Sport Horses

The Irish Sport Horse Studbook recorded its best result at the FEI world breeding jumping championships for young horses in Lanaken, Belgium when winning gold, silver and bronze medals yesterday.

Crowning a great weekend for his breeders, Frank and Laura Glynn of Rolestown, Co Dublin, the Ger O’Neill-ridden Killossery Kaiden produced the only double clear of the competition when landing the six-year-old crown for KM Sport Horses.

By the Hanoverian stallion Lux Z, which stands at Kedrah House Stud outside Cahir, Killossery Kaiden, which won the Horse Sport Ireland league for his age group this season, is out of the Cruising mare Killossery Kruisette.

Earlier, 16-year-old Mikey Pender from Kildare claimed silver and bronze in the five-year-old final with the Irish Sport Horses Z Seven Caretina and Z Seven Canya Dance, both owned by Team Z7. The Netherlands’ Willem Greve took gold with the Dutch Warmblood Garant.

The Glynns had further reason to celebrate yesterday as their son Ciaran broke the British stranglehold on the senior international classes at Ballindenisk horse trials in Co Cork when winning the CIC2* with November Night.
