AIBA world Number One lightweight Katie Taylor completed a confidence-boosting double in Kerry on Saturday ahead of June’s inaugural European Games in Azerbaijan.
The Olympic champion beat Sweden’s Pernilla Gustavsson on a unanimous decision over four rounds at a Trojan BC-hosted show at the Listowel Community Centre.
Saturday’s win arrived 24 hours after Taylor, a five- time AIBA World Elite champion, decisioned Sweden’s World Youth champion Agnes Alexiusson in her hometown of Bray.
Taylor has now won 156 of 163 fights in her career. The weekend wins were her first outings since injuring her left wrist winning a gold at the World Championships last November.
The Bray orthodox has been included on a 12-strong Irish boxing squad for the European Games.
