Age: 22

Event: Taekwondo 58kg

Missing out on Rio in 2016 by just one place, the then teenager from Tallaght was determined to come back stronger for Tokyo, proving his talent and hard work ethic to secure qualification in December 2019 when he landed gold medals in the Australian and Turkish Open. The first Irish Taekwondo Olympian, who works with his coach Robert Taaffe at South Dublin Taekwondo Martial Arts and Fitness, Woolley has been improving his seeding in the run-up to Tokyo, giving himself every chance of making a medal bout in a sport typically dominated by South Korea.
