News and preview: It may be 10 days until the Kildangan Stud Irish Oaks, but already Ouija Board has been installed an odds-on favourite to complete the Epsom-Curragh double.

Kieren Fallon was on board the last filly to bring off the double, Ramruma in 1999, and Cashmans reckon that Ouija Board is a 4 to 5 shot to do the same.

The Cork firm opened betting on the fourth classic of the Irish season yesterday, and they make the Aidan O'Brien-trained All Too Beautiful a 7 to 2 shot to make up the seven lengths she went down to Ouija Board at Epsom.

O'Brien has never won the Irish Oaks, but the race has been kind to the Ouija Board team.

Fallon, who was out of luck on the odds-on North Light in the Irish Derby, has won his sole Irish classic to date on Ramruma, and Ouija Board's trainer, Ed Dunlop, achieved the same with Lailani in 2001.

But if the ultra-impressive, British-trained filly is to win, she will have to be supplemented into the race at a cost of 40,000 next Tuesday.

In other news, Jamie Spencer and Aidan O'Brien face a busy day today with Antonius Pius heading for the Darley July Cup at Newmarket, where he is a 5 to 1 ante-post favourite to give the Ballydoyle team just a second Group On triumph of the year.

Antonius Pius is travelling a well-worn route after the likes of Stravinsky and Mozart successfully dropped back from longer distances in the six furlong feature.

His connections will then be taking another well-trodden route back to Tipperary this evening, where Spencer will be on board Excalibur in the mile and a half conditions race.

The conditions don't appear too favourable to the O'Brien runner who has to carry 10.4.

But Excalibur could be very hard to beat judged on the meagre evidence of a 15-length victory at the Curragh last October.

Ballydoyle also have Desert Tigress in the opener, but Kay Too, a controversial fourth to Democratic Deficit in the Railway Stakes, should be too good for that one.

Torduff Boy has 12st in the handicap chase, which serves as a Galway Plate trial, and the weight concession to Danaeve, who returned to action with a third place at Roscommon, may be beyond him.

Dermot Weld runs both Stage Affair and Direct Bearing in the earlier chase.

And although the latter is rated 3lb inferior to his stable companion, Barry Geraghty's presence on Direct Bearing looks significant.
