ROBBIE COLGAN steered 12 to 1 shot Our Eric home to take the featured Leo Dolan Memorial Handicap Hurdle race at Roscommon last night.

The Cecil Ross-trained 12-year-old disappointed last time out in a novice chase at Kilbeggan where he pulled up in a race won by Dazzling Susie, but before that he finished a decent fifth in a handicap hurdle at Listowel, just over four lengths behind Victrix Gale.

Back over hurdles he closed into fifth approaching the straight and soon challenged leader Boland’s Corner. After drawing level at the last, he kept on best on the run-in to score by three lengths.

The well-backed Boland’s Corner finished second at 4 to 1, while Duroob was a further two and a half lengths back in third.
