IT'S hard to see John Oxx's stranglehold on the two, Leopardstown Classic trials' ending this afternoon.
The Curragh trainer has won the last three runnings of both events, in which the Aga Khan has enjoyed five successes, and that owner provides two more likely winners in Sheraka and Deynawari.
Deynawari faces four rivals in the 2,000 Guineas trial and although lacking a run this season, Oxx is sure to have him spot on to do himself justice.
The son of Doyoun won the final two of his three outings last term, finishing up with an impressive three length beating of Ceirseach in the listed Eyrefield Stakes (1m 1f) over this track last November.
No Animosity came from a bad position to finish sixth behind Idris in last week's Gladness Stakes and is sure to be thereabouts but preference is for Deynawari.
Sheraka started joint favourite for the Group Three Juddmonte Beresford Stakes (1m) at the Curragh last October on the strength of winning a good Curragh maiden during the summer.
However, she was just outbattled by Ahkaam in the closing stage, going down by a head, but she should gain ample compensation in the 1,000 Guineas trial.
Ahkaam had Ceirseach two and a half lengths further behind in third place in that Curragh Pattern race but is now 5lb worse off as the pair face each other once again in the Ballysax Stakes.
On top of that Cirseach has a fitness advantage having already finished second to Tout A Coup at the Curragh and is likely to show further improvement.
However, neither may cope with another Oxx inmate Harghar who sidesteps the 2,000 Guineas trial to take in this event. The son of El Gran Senor won't be lacking fitness, having beaten Identify a head at Tipperary.
. Longchamp stages the main French 1,000 Guineas and 2,000 Guineas trials tomorrow, for which the powerful Andre Fabre Daniel Wildenstein team supply the probable favourites.
Miss Tahiti, the impressive Prix Marcel Boussac winner, is expected to strengthen her Poule d'Essai des Pouliches claims by accounting for three rivals in the one mile Group Three Prix de la Grotte. Shake The Yoke, second in the Boussac, may again follow Miss Tahiti home.
Loup Solitaire, the Grand Criterium winner, lines up against five rivals in the main Poule d'Essai des Poulains trial, the Group Three Prix de Fontainebleau also over a mile.
Opposition includes the Grand Criterium third Eternity Range.
