Parma coach Cesare Prandelli says he expects the players to be sold by the crisis-hit club will be those already part-owned by other teams.
Parma, sixth in Serie A, have been thrown into crisis by the multi-billion euro accounting scandal that has hit their owners, multinational food company Parmalat.
The club's president, Stefano Tanzi, son of arrested Parmalat founder Calisto Tanzi, and the entire board of directors resigned yesterday.
That came a day after Italy's industry minister gave the go-ahead for the club to be put up for sale at the end of the season.
The club is effectively in the hands of Enrico Bondi, the corporate salvage expert drafted in to save Parmalat, who own almost 100 per cent of the club.
Meanwhile, Barcelona are poised to sign Dutch international Edgar Davids after Italian champions Juventus gave the Catalan club the go-ahead to talk terms with the 30-year-old midfielder.
Club president Joan Laporta travelled to Turin to negotiate the deal and Barcelona officials will now begin direct talks with Davids, who is believed to be in Surinam attending a funeral.
The former Ajax and AC Milan player has fallen out with the Serie A champions after failing to renew his contract, which expires at the end of the season.
