SCHOOLS RUGBY/PBC Cork - 39; Newtown School - 12: Presentation Brothers Cork qualified for the semi-finals of the Munster Schools' Senior Cup with an easy victory over Newtown at Ballinakill, Waterford, yesterday.
Despite the scoreline it was not all one-way traffic. PBC scored three tries in the last eight minutes - from captain Rory Geoghegan, David O'Leary and Finbarr Dennehy - to finally put some daylight between themselves and a gritty Newtown side.
Pres led 22-6 at the break with tries from O'Leary, Tom Gleeson and David Kingston, and a penalty and two conversions from Gleeson.
Newtown put in a storming second-half performance and were rewarded with two penalties from centre Harvey Kinsella, who also kicked two in the first half.
