Given the fact that the French consider themselves to be gastronomically superior to all other countries, Paris would not seem the greatest location for a new Italian restaurant. However, when it is owned by Diego Dominguez along with a couple of former Italian international rugby players, drumming up a bit of business should be a bit easier.

Dominguez, the Argentine-born Italian outhalf, is the darling of the Stade Franτais club, located in the shadow of the Parc des Princes. The restaurant was the brainchild of Claudio Patassini, once a prop for Olimpic Rugby Roma, and Rocco Caligiuri, who was one of the stars of Italian rugby in the 70s. The two ex-players own a restaurant, I Pomodorini, on the Via Campania in Rome and it has proved so successful they decided to open another in Paris in the Rolland Garros area, home to the French Open tennis championships.

Dominguez will run the restaurant and it will specialise in pasta dishes. The name? Why the No 10, of course.
