1988: Won Ulster minor championship medal.

1989: Captained Tyrone to the All-Ireland Vocational Schools title, beating Mayo in the final.

1991: Captained Tyrone to All-Ireland Under-21 football championship, beating Kerry in final.

1992: Became the only man to captain two successive All-Ireland winning teams when leading Tyrone to Under21 crown, beating Galway.

1993: Captained Errigal Chiaran to their first Tyrone senior football championship. Also led them to Ulster title.

1994: Came on as substitute and scored second-half goal that set up Ulster for their record fifth Railway Cup football title in a row.

1995: Scored 0-11 in the All-Ireland final against Dublin, the best by a player on the losing side in a Sam Maguire decider and the top score ever by an Ulsterman. He was top scorer nationally for the championship with 1-38 in five games, an average of 8.20 per game.

1998: Captained Ulster to the Railway Cup title, his fourth time to be on a winning final team.
