MARTIN PIPE'S bid to go through the card at Exeter yesterday went down in the second race and he had to settle for just three winners.
The champion jumps trainer had made the perfect start to his attempt to become the first man to train all six winners on a card. His three runners in the opening Bramble Conditional Jockeys' Selling Handicap Hurdle, Buglet, Nordic Crown and Denomination, finished first, second and third respectively.
But Fleet Cadet could only manage second to 33 to 1 shot Miss Foxy, trained by Richard Frost, in the following Interlink Express Delivery Maiden Hurdle.
Salt was rubbed into Pipe's wounds when his 1 to 3 chance Pond House was comprehensively outpointed by sole rival Henley Regatta in the City of Exeter Challenge Bowl Handicap Chase.
But Shahrani saw off two rivals in the Interlink Express Parcels Novices' Hurdle and Akiymann did the same in the closing Interlink Express Freight Novices' Handicap Hurdle.
