Ireland 77 Canada 3: Ireland vented their frustrations yesterday at missing out on the qualification for the middle group of countries by running in 11 tries against Canada for their second win in the Under-21 World Championship in Argentina.
The Irish side played with huge discipline and were rewarded with the second highest points total of the tournament, with only New Zealand exceeding their score.
Ireland showed their forward power within a minute of the kick-off when from a penalty created lineout in the corner, the Irish pack drove their way to the line for a try credited to prop Ronan Loughney. The try trail continued with a score by winger Dan Riordan and the driving lineout continued at the start of the second half as Ireland's forwards again produced another try, this time for first-time starter Alex Dunlop.
The pursuit of points was relentless and it became just a matter of how much Ireland would score.
