Nick Price's putter finally came through for him as he sank a 16-foot birdie putt at the second extra hole to beat Jeff Sluman in a playoff and win the St Jude Classic in Memphis, Tennessee for the second time yesterday.

"I guess I was due for one that length," said the 41-year-old Zimbabwean, who earlier squandered a chance to win in regulation when he lipped-out a six-foot birdie attempt on the 72nd hole at the Southwind TPC course.

"I think this is my 40th career victory, which is a real milestone for me. One more and I catch my age," added Price, who also won this event in 1993.

Price shot a closing 66, while Sluman's 65 matched the day's best score. They finished at 16under 268, two strokes ahead of Glen Day (65), who bogeyed the final hole.
