Real Madrid are into the quarter-finals of the Champions League after a dramatic comeback win against PSG last night - following the French club's latest capitulation in the competition. The visitors looked primed to reach the last eight, leading 1-0 on the night and 2-0 on aggregate, before Karim Benzema bagged a hat-trick in little over 15 minutes. In the night's other last-16 second leg, Manchester City progressed following a 0-0 draw with Sporting Lisbon. Tonight Manchester United host Atletico Madrid in their second leg at Old Trafford (1-1 first leg) and Ajax are at home to Benfica (2-2 first leg), both kick off at 8pm. The FAI has confirmed Stephen Kenny's new contract, and he will continue managing the Republic of Ireland all the way to the 2024 European Championships in Germany.

Gerry Thornley expects Andy Farrell to revert to the vast core of the Irish side which kicked off the Six Nations with a 29-7 win over Wales when unveiling the matchday squad for Saturday's round four match against England at Twickenham this morning. He does however expect Jack Conan to miss out in the backrow with Peter O'Mahony joining Josh van der Flier and Caelan Doris. Check out his predicted team to face England here.

Ireland's Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry and Séamus Power are among the stellar field chasing the PGA Tour's flagship tournament The Players and its €18 million purse this week. Philip Reid expalins the challenge of conquering the TPC Sawgrass course, with the rough at four inches in places, will be accentuated by a weather front that promises heavy rain for the opening two rounds, strong winds of up to 30 miles an hour on Saturday and a closing round in cool temperatures come Sunday.

Meanwhile, after becoming the first Irish player to win on the LPGA Tour - at the Drive On Championship in Florida last month - Leona Maguire is The Irish Times/Sport Ireland Sportswoman of the month for February. She has now been named sportswoman of the month in these awards more times than any Irish woman except Katie Taylor.
