RUGBY/International round-up:Ireland's World Cup opponents Argentina enjoyed a comfortable 24-6 victory over Italy in Mendoza on Saturday.
An understrength Pumas side, showing nine changes from the team that beat Ireland last week, scored two tries, wing Francisco Leonelli and fullback Federico Serra touching down in the 25th and 31st minutes respectively.
Serra converted his own try to give Argentina a 15-0 lead. He went on to kick four penalties.
David Bortolussi replied for Italy but another kick from Serra gave the Argentinians a 15-point advantage at half-time.
Bortolussi reduced the deficit after the break but his side were undone by indiscipline, playing the final 20 minutes with 14 men after referee Lyndon Bray sinbinned flanker Josh Sole and then prop Andrea Lo Cicero.
Serra kicked both penalties.
Australia's thrashing of Fiji in Perth on Saturday was their biggest Test victory, 49-0, in over 10 months.
The Wallabies scored eight tries, five in the first half.
Wing Lote Tuqiri and centre Scott Staniforth scored two apiece while fullback Julian Huxley, outhalf Stephen Larkham, replacement Sam Norton-Knight and centre Adam Ashley Cooper each bagged one.
South Africa - fielding a largely reserve team - recorded a 35-8 victory over Samoa in Johannesburg on Saturday.
The Springboks' tries came from captain Jon Smit, JP Pietersen, Pedrie Wannenburg, Percy Montgomery and Francois Steyn, while Derick Hougaard and Montgomery scored conversions. Hougaard also kicked two penalties.
Samoa's points came from a Gavin Williams penalty and a late try from Anitelea Tuilagi.
