Listowel Report:Kieren Fallon booted home Pyrenees to win the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Premier Nursery at Listowel, the feature race on the opening afternoon of the seven-day festival.
But punters will be kicking themselves for allowing Fallon's only mount of the day to go off at 12 to 1 after David Wachman's charge ran out a cosy winner.
Stablemate Sleeveless set the pace, but once Fallon asked the son of Rock Of Gibraltar for his effort inside the final furlong he powered up the straight to go away and win by three-quarters of a length.
Hebridean chased home the winner, with Dick Morris in third and Sleeveless staying on for fourth.
Wachman said: "The winner is quite a nice horse and he is improving all the time.
"Good ground is the key to him as he has not been in great form on the soft in the summer.
"He keeps improving and he will either go for a stakes race over a mile or he may go for another handicap next."
Belmont Stakes winner Rags To Riches is out for the rest of the season after suffering a hairline fracture to her right front pastern.
The Coolmore-owned three-year-old made her own piece of history in New York in June when she became the first filly to win the final leg of the American Triple Crown in 102 years.
She is expected to make a full recovery.
