European Leagues: Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o tried to leave the pitch after being subjected to monkey chanting against Real Zaragoza on Saturday night. With Barcelona being held 0-0 at La Romareda, the home fans began directing abuse at Eto'o.

He was infuriated and went to leave the pitch, only to be convinced not to by team-mates, opponents and the referee.

Eto'o did stay on the field as his side went on to win 2-0 thanks to Ronaldinho's penalty and a Henrik Larsson goal. The win means the reigning champions are eight points clear at the top as second-placed Valencia were held to a 1-1 home draw by Getafe.

Elsewhere, Real Madrid lost 2-1 at Mallorca yesterday, ending their six-match winning run in the Primera Liga. Sergio Ramos opened the scoring for Real but Mallorca came back through a Leonardo Pisculichi penalty and, with 10 minutes left, Juan Fernando Arango scored the winner.

Serie A leaders Juventus led a clean sweep of victories for Italy's top four when they came from behind to beat relegation-threatened Lecce 3-1 yesterday.

Goals by Emerson, Robert Kovac and a late Alessandro Del Piero penalty cancelled out Gennaro Delvecchio's goal for the visitors to give Juventus 70 points from 27 matches.

They are 10 points ahead of second-placed AC Milan, who won 2-0 at Palermo. Inter Milan lie third on 58 points after a 3-1 victory against Udinese.

Last night fourth-placed Roma set a record of 11 consecutive Serie A wins by beating Lazio 2-0 in the Rome derby. Rodrigo Taddei and Alberto Aquilani scored the goals.
