Multiple Group One winner Midday has given birth to a foal by former superstar stablemate Frankel.

The high-profile mating produced its first offspring last Saturday afternoon at Juddmonte Farm’s Banstead Manor Stud in Newmarket.

Midday and Frankel were both trained by the late Henry Cecil, and in total won 16 races at the top level between them.

The new filly weighed in at 132lb and was born at 1.15pm.

Stud manager Simon Mockridge’s report on the filly read: “Attractive, quality filly. Has size and scope. Deep girthed, broad hips, strong quartered. Good bone. Strong hind leg. Very good foal.”

Speaking on the operation’s website, Juddmonte’s general manager Philip Mitchell said: “Obviously this was a much anticipated foaling. We are very pleased with the foal.

“We have had many people contact us regarding Midday and her Frankel foal, and would be interested to hear any naming suggestions from members of the public!”

Midday is due to visit Frankel again later this year.
