Rallycross is back at Mondello Park on Sunday, with 86 cars competing in a round of the high-powered British Rallycross Championship.
The 24 visitors, led by Pat Doran and John Haffey, will face strong competition from multi-British and Irish champion Dermot Carnegie, John McCluskey, John Moloney and Laurence Gibson.
Irish motor racing faces a dilemma regarding a new premier class to replace the defunct Formula Opel. The high cost factor mitigates against some of the international formulae, such as Formula 3 and Formula Renault. Unless someone can come up with a practical alternative the way to go is Formula Ford Zetec.
