SCOTTISH PREMIER LEAGUE:DEPORTIVO LA Coruna could table an offer for Nacho Novo after confirming their interest in the Rangers striker.

The La Liga club were linked with the 29-year-old after watching him score twice as a Galician select claimed a 3-2 win over Iran on Saturday night.

The Spanish forward took part in the international just hours after making a substitute appearance in the Old Firm derby defeat at Ibrox.

Deportivo president Augusto Cesar Lendoiro said: "Nacho Novo is a player who is attractive to Deportivo because of his Galician background and also because of his contractual situation in Glasgow."

Meanwhile, Rangers manager Walter Smith insists it is up to Charlie Adam whether he remains a Rangers player.

Asked if there was still a role for Adam at Ibrox, Smith said: "Of course there is. He played in the game on Saturday."

Smith added: "He's been in and out the team, Charlie. Whether he's happy or not with that is another factor.

"But he can do a job for us."
