SCHOOLS RUGBY: RBAI 20 Coleraine Inst 8ROYAL BELFAST Academical Institution reached their 53rd Northern Schools' Cup final with a comfortable victory over Coleraine Academical Institution at Ravenhill yesterday.

The Belfast Inst pack was so superior their opponents had few opportunities to allow their wingers to show their paces.

Inst went in front early on when a Paddy Bell break led to a Matthew Madill try. Matthew McGuigan converted and then added a drop-goal.

Alan Clarke had a penalty for Coleraine, but the half-time margin should have been greater but too many Inst scoring chances were squandered.

McGuigan missed a number of penalties, but Andrew Brown set up Nathan Brown to extend the lead. Then Gareth Lawlor added the third.

Their opponents came back with a late, well-executed try with plenty of interpassing before Clarke went in at the corner.
