TRAINER Willie Jarvis can take this weekend's feature, York's William Hill Sprint Trophy, with React. The Reprimand filly excelled herself on her most recent outing when finishing less than a length third to Branston Abby in the Listed William de Broe Charlotte Stakes at Newmarket.

At Headquarters React chased the leaders and ran on strongly towards the finish in a strongly run race.

This run followed a good second over seven furlongs at Chester when Jarvis filly was always prominent and kept on well hut was unable to hold Prends Ca in the closing stages and was beaten one and a quarter lengths at the line.

React raced off a rating of 92 at Newmarket and is on the same mark for Saturday's feature. The filly has been raised told for her effort against Branston Abby therefore she is effectively 10lb "well in" on the Knavesmire when she can race off her old mark.

Regarded by Jarvis as a useful filly equally effective over six and seven furlongs React can prove her worth by winning this £45,000 added contest.

Skillington can follow up a recent impressive Pontefract win over to furlongs with victory in the Daniel Prenn Royal Yorkshire Rated Stakes on the same card.

At the Yorkshire track the Danzig colt won in tremendous style, making all the running, quickening three furlongs out and staying on strongly to win by five lengths from Three Hills.

. Jockey Lindsay Charnock was yesterday handed a seven day ban for his Pontefract fracas with Nicky Carlisle. Charnock appeared to lose his temper when a horse was unseated in a rough race for the Dewsbury Selling Stakes on Monday. At an inquiry held at York, the stewards found the jockey had been guilty of improper riding in that he intentionally aimed a blow at Carlisle with his whip.

. Darryll Holland's appeal against the refusal for him to be ranted a license to ride in Hong Kong next season was dismissed yesterday, with the jockey's deposit also forfeited.

Despite the presence of a barrister and the support of Wong Tang Ping, the trainer who wanted to retain him, the four man appeal tribunal were fairly quick to dismiss the appeal of the former Lambourn based rider.

No reasons have been given as to why Holland, who had a very successful spell in Hong Kong in the season which ended on Sunday, has had his license terminated.
