A record 176 applications for 132 places have been received for the Irish Senior Ladies Open 36 holes strokeplay championship at Lahinch on October 3rd and 4th. Nancy Fitzgerald, a past winner of the US Seniors, and Diane Williams from Canada will tee off in Lahinch as will Barbara Vanderveqhe from California. The European challenge is led by Claudine Chartrier, a French international and winner of several French titles. Also making the trip are Ann Bouton from France, Elly Van de Walraven from Holland and Louise van der Berghe from the Royal Golf Club Belgium. Pamela Williamson leads the Scottish challenge while England will be represented by Anne Briggs, Eve Bolton and Pat Rogers. Former international Valerie Hassett leads the home entry which also includes Rhona Fanagan, Jane Allen, Anna Moloney, Eileen McMullen and Roma English.
