SWIMMING: The German Swimming Federation (DSV) is to consider erasing national records set by swimmers from former communist East Germany that have since been tainted by evidence of doping practices.
The move follows similar steps taken by the German Athletics Federation.
National records set by East German athletes were registered as German records after unification in 1990 and several still stand.
The DSV decision follows a request by former Olympic champion Petra Schneider last December that she wanted her national record for the 400 metres medley, set in 1982, annulled because her performance was illegally-enhanced.
