Former international Barry Reddan (County Louth) made his visit to neighbouring club Seapoint a profitable one last week. In the first outing of the Links Golfing Society season, sponsored by the Bank of Ireland, he came home in first place to win the nett prize with a 70 off a one handicap. In a three-way tie, Reddan edged out Peter Lawrie and Dundalk's Peter Rogers on the countback. Peter O'Hagan (Charlesland), Pat Smyth (Killiney) and John Curran (Elm Park) filled the next three places.

Jim Carvill (Bar-One-Racing) won the gross with an excellent 70 on a course that measured just 7,000 yards. Forrest Little's Tony Judd finished second after a 71 with former Walker Cup player Jody Fanagan next on 72, with Eamonn Brady, Tommy Halpin and Leslie Walker filling the remaining places. The team prize went to Frank Gannon (Skerries), Andrew Cunningham (Hermitage) and Frank Flynn (Laytown and Bettystown).
