Mary Reveley can launch a successful "pre-emptive" strike at Doncaster today. The trainer whose Brother Of Iris is hot favourite for tomorrow's Pertemps Great Yorkshire Chase at Town Moor has fine prospects of a double in Harfdecent and The Granby.
Proven top-of-the-ground performer Harfdecent makes plenty of appeal for the Harworth Handicap Chase, which has cut up to six runners due to the firmish underfoot conditions. The going was softer than ideal for him at Musselburgh last time out and he did well to win.
Useful prospect The Granby should complete a four-timer in the EBF "National Hunt" Novices' Hurdle. He has not been hard pressed to land his last three starts in novice company, at Sedgfield and Catterick (twice).
Ex-French gelding Guignol du Cochet would be a fitting winner at Folkestone. The six-year-old won at Worcester in November and reached a place in each of his three starts since.
Feast of Romance will be hard to deny a second "Showcase Handicap" win of the year at Southwell. He collected a feature six-furlong event at Wolverhampton three weeks ago.
