Waterford United player manager Alan Reynolds may have to watch from the sidelines for the first time when they play Cork this evening after aggravating a back problem in Friday's defeat of Dublin City.

Reynolds has fielded the same starting line-up in United's three games, and the team has produced two wins and a draw to lie third, just one place ahead of tonight's opponents at the RSC.

If Reynolds misses out, then Wayne Fitzgerald is likely to take his place in central midfield.

Cork may stick with the team which drew in Longford as John O'Flynn struggles to get over an injury to his abdomen.

Dublin City will be one of two sides trying to get their first points this evening, with John Gill's men looking for at least a draw from their encounter with St Patrick's Athletic in Tolka Park.

The home side will again be missing Cillian Brennan, Tony O'Connor and Alan Kealy, while the visitors must wait to assess the fitness of Darragh Maguire (hip) and Kharim El Khebir (hamstring). Con Blastis is still struggling with a hamstring while Paul Osam is a doubt due to his knee.

Paul Doolin hopes his side can stop conceding sloppy goals when they take on Derry City at United Park. The Drogheda manager reckons five of the six scored against his side have been largely self-inflicted and realises they need to tighten up.

Barry Molloy (knee) is a doubt for the hosts while David Freeman is still not fit to start. Gavin Dykes will be without Clive Delaney and Gareth McGlynn, while Gary Beckett is a doubt because of bruised ribs.

Shamrock Rovers manager Liam Buckley must give late tests to Jason McGuinness and Derek Tracey ahead of their match with Longford, who will have Barry Ferguson back from suspension for the trip to Richmond Park.
