Golf Digest: SENIORS TOUR A brilliant birdie at the last hole gave former Ryder Cup player José Rivero a dramatic one-shot victory in the lucrative Wales Seniors Open at The Vale Hotel, Golf & Spa Resort near Cardiff.
Rivero had started the final round six strokes back but as the leaders faltered over the back nine of the Wales National Course, the Spaniard went on a birdie spree for a round of 68 and a winning total of four under par 212.
Sam Torrance of Scotland, who closed with a 71, overnight leader David J Russell of England (75), Juan Quiros of Spain (69) and Frenchman Gery Watine (70) shared second place on 213.
Ireland's Des Smyth finished on 219 after a final round of 75
EUROPEAN TOUR: Argentina's Cesar Monasterio produced a brilliant up and down from a bunker at his last hole to save par and clinch the Aa St Omer Open title by just one stroke.
The 42-year-old claimed his maiden European Tour victory in northern France after splashing out of the sand beside the 18th green and holing a 10-foot putt.

LGU BRITISH AMATEUR: Long-hitting Spaniard, Belen Mozo from Cadiz, won the Women's British Amateur Championship at County Down on Saturday with a 3 and 1 victory in the final over Swede Anna Nordqvist, the reigning British Girl's champion.
