RACING: Rock of Gibraltar was yesterday installed as 5 to 1 second-favourite for next weekend's Breeders' Cup Classic.
Aidan O'Brien has yet to decide between the Mile or Classic as the target for his record-breaking colt, winner of seven successive Group One events, and last seen when trotting up in the Prix du Moulin.
There has, however, been some opposition to the chances of Rock Of Gibraltar in the Mile. The Wally Dollasse trained six-year-old Good Journey is now a 10 to 1 chance having been available at 16 to 1 a few days ago.
Good Journey comes into the race on the back of a one-length success in the Grade One Atto Mile at Woodbine, where Champion Stakes third Noverre could only manage sixth.
At Longchamp yesterday John Gosden's Silver Gilt (Olivier Peslier) was beaten half a length into second place by the Andre Fabre-trained Graikos in the Group Three Prix de Conde
The other big race on the card - the Group Two Prix du Conseil de Paris - went to the top weight Ange Gabriel, who was having his first start since winning the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud in June.
Eddie Ahern rounded off a magnificent weekend by riding a double on Bedford Forest and Nice Hush in Cologne. Bedford Forest (8 to 1) won the Listed Preis der Munte Bauunternenehmung by a length and a quarter.
Ahern, successful in the Challenge Stakes aboard Nayyir at Newmarket on Saturday, deputised on both occasions for the indisposed Andreas Helfenbein.
