A couple of excellent second-half saves by Trevor Wood helped an injury-ravaged St Patrick's get a share of the points in Ballybofey on Saturday night.
Harps were on top for much of the game, but while they managed to carve out several good scoring chances, their finishing let them down on the night. Fergal Harkin was in terrific form for the Donegal club and he got them off to a perfect start when he slotted home from 10 yards in the eighth minute following a poor clearance from Martin Russell. The visitors were back on level terms three minutes into the second half when Robbie McGuinness slid in at the back post for a simple tap-in.
A magnificent save from Wood denied Johnny Kenny on the hour when the Harps man should have done better, while Gavin Cullen made a fine stop at the other end to deny Marcus Hallows in the 68th minute. Wood made another splendid save in the 78th minute to deny Dom Tierney.
Fergal Harkin almost had the last say in the 83rd minute, but his shot flew across the face of the goal.
