Rockchapel of Cork were crowned All-Ireland women's junior champions with a six-point win over St Nathy's at Lismagh, Offaly, yesterday. The Munster side trailed by a point on a 0-5 to 0-4 halftime score but having played against a strong wind in the first half they took control after the break and Therese O'Sullivan's 21st-minute goal put them on the road to victory.
A gallant St Nathy's, who made Rockchapel fight all the way, rallied in the closing stages but an Angela Doohan goal three minutes from the end was too little too late for the Sligo and Connacht champions.
