Brazilian superstar Ronaldo gave an indication yesterday of what the world can expect next summer in France. He was in irrepressible mood in the gala match before the World Cup draw in Marseille, scoring twice for the Rest of the World and setting up their three other goals in a one-sided first half.

England midfielder Paul Ince was on the receiving end as he played a full game for the European team.

Romanian Marius Lacatus opened the scoring for Europe after just two minutes, but it was all downhill after that, with Ronaldo taking centre stage.

Colombian Antony De Avila equalised 15 minutes later after being put through by Ronaldo. Then the Inter Milan superstar put the Rest of the World ahead after turning Spanish defender Fernando Hierro.

Ronaldo followed up by creating two goals for Argentinian striker Gabriel Batistuta before notching another himself - and all this before half-time.

France midfielder Zinedine Zidane pulled a goal back for Europe on the hour.
