Volvo Masters:Justin Rose won the European Order of Merit and the Volvo Masters on Sunday after a dramatic final day at Valderrama which saw the young Englishman having to go into a play-off for the tournament with Simon Dyson and Soren Kjeldsen.
The three had finished on one-under 283, two strokes ahead of Rose's money list rival Padraig Harrington and Graeme McDowell.
Earlier on, with four clear and with eight to play, Rose had a double bogey seven and two bogeys. It left him battling for the title again and gave Padraig Harrington a chance to keep his money list crown.
Things then hotted up when Graeme McDowell made an albatross two on the long 17th to tie for the lead, while playing partner Kjeldsen then birdied the hole to go ahead on his own at two under.
He then bogeyed the last and McDowell double-bogeyed it and when Rose and Dyson birdied the 17th they were out in front at two under. But neither could make par and so they went into sudden death on one under.
Rose eventually beat fellow Englishman Dyson and Soren Kjeldsen with a 14-foot birdie putt on the second hole of a sudden death play-off.
Harrington was joint fourth overall, not enough for him to overtake the absent Ernie Els on the Order of Merit.
