Not so much a throwback to glory days in Milltown but nonetheless impressive enough with Rovers capturing the women's FAI Cup at Clonshaugh yesterday.

Victory saw them complete the double having wrapped up the league six days before, also against Shelbourne.

The jubilant side wore T-shirts underneath reading "The real Irish team" which was an intended jibe at Ladies International manager Mick Cooke.

Cooke controversially left out Rovers midfielder Olivia O'Toole from the squad which travels to America tomorrow in preparation for the forthcoming European Championship qualifiers. O'Toole addressed this by scoring Rovers opening goal on 11 minutes when firing home from a Margaret Saurin corner. Rovers dealt the killer blow on 72 minutes when Aisling O'Callaghan fired home an unstoppable shot from the edge of the box.
