LEAGUE OF IRELAND:HAVING AVENGED an early home defeat to leaders St Patrick's Athletic at Richmond Park on Friday, Shamrock Rovers travel to second-placed Dundalk hoping to right another reversal.

Unbeaten now in eight games since losing to Dundalk, Rovers’ resurgence remains all the more impressive given the absence of injured defenders Pat Sullivan (knee), Craig Sives (calf) and Enda Stevens (groin) while striker Don Cowan (groin) is also out.

Stephen Bradley, Seán O’Connor and Chris Turner are all back available for selection again.

Buoyed by their return to winning ways at Drogheda on Friday, Dundalk hope to have midfielder JJ Melligan fit to return.

St Patrick’s may draw inspiration from having bounced back well from their only other defeat this season ahead of their visit to UCD, themselves encouraged by a battling 0-0 draw at champions Bohemians on Friday.

Neither College or St Patrick’s report any new injury concerns.

Paul Keegan again captains Bohemians against Drogheda United at Dalymount as Owen Heary remains out with a hamstring strain. Fellow defender Steven Gray (Achilles) remains sidelined also while Gareth McGlynn is suspended.

Drogheda are missing striker Robbie Martin (back/hamstring) and left-back Eoghan Osborne (groin).

On Saturday Sporting Fingal marked their first visit to the Showgrounds with a cracking Ronan Finn goal that propelled Liam Buckley’s side into fourth place.

Finn swooped for the only goal of the game in the 43rd minute firing Eamon Zayed’s clever ball past Rovers goalkeeper Richard Brush.
